Your TV and PC Can Just Get Along

June 2006
Buffalo Inc. announced their latest attempt to get your TV and PC to reconcile their differences today with the Buffalo LinkTheater Wireless-A&G Media Player (PC-P4LWAG). It's designed to work with Intel's Viiv platform to bring media stored on your PC into every room in your domicile that has a screen. Mediabolic brings their Media Player software to the party and Philips provides the Nexperia media processor, all integrated into a system that lets you work with your computer as if it were a television, remote control and all. The interface is designed to make installation of the wireless network as painless as possible. LinkTheater plays nice with MP3, WMA, AAC, LPCM, MPEG 1/2/4, WMV 7/8/9 and XviD and works off of a 802.11 a/b/g wireless network. It also sports a USB port for peripheral devices and memory. The player drops later this month for about $249. -David Thomas
