There are several outstanding Universal Remotes on the market right now that control every possible piece of electronics furniture in your home all with one remote control, and most of them work flawlessly.

However, there are few products out there that can control your home electronics from anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE, in your home from as far as 100 feet away.

The spaceship-looking Next Generation RF Remote Extender takes the infrared signal from any remote control and turns it into a long-range Radio Frequency signal, allowing the user the freedom to go from room to room and control components with no direct line-of-sight needed. Because there is no IR Receiver, there is no need to point the remote directly at said Receiver.

Set-up of the Extender is fairly easy. I simply installed the RF battery transmitter in place of my 'AA' or 'AAA' batteries currently inside the remote control, then attached the bright eye emitter to the component I wished to control. It's really that simple! I used the Extender to control my cable TV remote and Blu-ray player in my Living Room and received better-than-expected results. I must admit I was a little skeptical at first.

However, that skepticism soon diminished when I used it to change channels on my TV and navigate the menu on my Blu-ray player while making dinner in the kitchen. The kitchen is three rooms away from the Living Room with three walls separating both rooms (Approx. 50 feet).

I was especially impressed with the fact that I didn't have to stand there hitting the buttons 10 times on the remote control or move around to different parts of the kitchen in order for the signal to reach the TV. I was even able to catch a signal in the basement of my apartment, which was impressive. With one press of the button I was able to get both the TV and Blu-ray player working perfectly.

This product would be a fabulous addition to anyone's home theater set-up. MSRP for the RF Extender is an inexpensive $54.95 and definitely worth every penny.

Thanks for reviewing the NextGen Remote Extender and for explaining what a great benefit it can be to the installer and consumer. This is one of the great values today in CE. Well done.
