Barnes and Noble and Sprint are reportedly working together to build an e-book reader to rival Amazon's Kindle, TheStreet.com reported Friday, citing industry insiders, as well as speculation at last week's CTIA show.
The bookstore chain, the nation's largest, had been negotiating with AT&T to be its wireless partner, but instead is going with Sprint after the AT&T talks broke down. Sprint is also the Kindle's wireless provider.
