Review: Sherwood BDP-5003 Blu-ray Player
An affordable introduction to the virtues of Blu-ray
February 24, 2009 By Dave ThomasThe look of the player is nothing to write home about. It's not unattractive, but it's doesn't exactly pop. It's simple, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Buttons on the player are backlit, but not on the remote, though I had no problem finding the remote buttons I needed in a dark room to replay any of Tony Stark's bon mots.
While the MSRP hovers near $300, the price you'll likely pay for this player hovers closer to $200, making the BDP-5003 a very affordable way to introduce yourself to the vivid new world of Blu-ray.
