Office Max, HP, Newegg Lead Online Index

Research firm Keynote this week released its weekly Transaction Performance Index for Online Retail Web Sites, with OfficeMax ranking first in the speed category, and HP and Newegg tying for the lead in success.

OfficeMax took the lead in response time with an average of 6.55, ahead of HP (6.76), Overstock.com (8.96) and Dell (9.72), ahead of the index average of 11.80. Best Buy and Walmart came in 8th and 9th, respectively.

In terms of success rate by percentage, HP and Newegg tied with 99.7 percent, followed by Toys R Us with 99.6, with Staples and Dell also finishing above 99 percent. Best Buy and Walmart were 10th and 11th, just behind the overall index of 97.73 percent.
