For old-school consumers who’d rather not control by touch, the wireless mouse and keyboard enable you to get around speedily as you would on any conventional PC. And the lack of cables goes with a trend we’re seeing more of lately—less clutter through less dangling wires. This certainly plays well with HP’s mission to make the TouchSmart blend in with the home décor as another piece of furniture. Its sleek piano-black design with espresso side panels certainly adds to its sophisticated look.

TouchSmart probably won’t set the business world on fire as an office computer—but it’s not intended to. Still, for the stay-at-home consumer, its targeted user, this smart, compact fun-to-use machine may be just the ticket. Starting at $1,299 for the IQ500T, this product line is a good value. It brings to market a very appealing stew of dynamic apps, serious PC power, attractive design, plug-and-play user friendliness and—oh yeah—that great touch technology. Let your fingers do the computing!
