Now that one long-talked-about tablet computer, Apple's iPad, has finally been unveiled, another, similar computer is set to arrive soon as well. The JooJoo, formerly known as the Crunchpad, will ship later this month, its parent company said this week.

Chandrasekar “Chandra” Rathakrishnan, CEO of FusionGarage, told VentureBeat.com that the JooJoo, which has been in preorder since December, will be "in customer's hands" by the end of the month. The device, which costs $499, will differ from the iPad in size (it's bigger, at 12.9 inches), aspect ratio (16:9 rather than 4:3), and in other ways (it was WiFi-only, with Flash but with no app store.)

The device, originally developed by TechCrunch.com editor Michael Arrington, has been the subject of a lawsuit between Arrington and FusionGarage, which Arrington claims cut him out of the project last fall. The lawsuit remains pending.
