The PhotoRecord software (called ImageBrowser on the Mac system) that's included with the S800 is sophisticated and digital-camera friendly. It enables users to download images from the memory card to the computer, print multiple images on the same page, display images as a slide show, resize images, add captions, and compress large files for sending them via e-mail. The software also includes PhotoStitch feature that merges images into panoramas. The Image Browser supports six file formats: JPEG, TIFF, CIFF, EXIF, PICT and Windows bit-map. For Windows, the printer comes with ZoomBrowser EX software that also supports JPEG, TIFF and Windows bit-map file formats, plus RAW, Flashpix, Windows MetaFile and PCD (Kodak Photo CD) formats.

The S800 is pretty small, and therefore portable, is quiet, and Energy Star-compliant. It ac-commodates the many media in several sizes: letter and legal plain paper, envelopes, banner paper, photo paper, photo cards, photo film, 4˝ x 6˝ paper, as well as transparencies and magnet and T-shirt-transfer sheets.
