Best Buy is focusing on growing its private-label electronics, which increased 40 percent in sales over the last fiscal year, MinnPost.com reported, citing a Wall Street Journal report.

Best Buy house brands include Geek Squad flash drives, Dynex and Insignia TVs, Init electronics cases and accessories and Rocketfish video cables.  The retailer also uses the Insignia brand for GPS, HD radio tuners and digital picture frames.

At the same time, Best Buy has declined to carry some competitively-priced brands like Vizio that might compromise their strategy.  WSJ cites an iSuppli report that shows Best Buy brands' flat-panel market share growing from 2.3 percent to 4.9 percent over the last year.

Coul you imagine how high sales would be if Best Buy sold Vizio products? They make such a great product and sell it an affordable price. I've had a 47 inch XVT for about 7 months now, no problems. Now I'm asking for Vizio's new soundbar for father's day!
