Best Buy announced Tuesday that it will donate 1,000 scholarships of $1,000 each to students throughout the U.S., as part of its @15 teen social networking program.

The scholarships will be granted to students who demonstrate "outstanding commitment to and involvement in community service or work experience, along with a solid academic performance." Those interested can apply through www.at15.com, and the deadline if Feb. 15.

“The @15 Scholarship program is an investment in this country’s next generation of leaders – an investment that will pay dividends for all of us,” Brian J. Dunn, president and CEO of Best Buy, said in a statement. “Best Buy, through the @15 platform, is committed to empowering teens with the tools they need to drive change and make a difference for themselves as well as in their communities.”
